Is your child working on saying the R sound? Did you know there are so many opportunities outside of speech therapy for practicing speech? At Peggy’s Speech Therapy, when I'm not working directly with clients providing online speech therapy for the R sound, I am helping parents find fun and creative ways to transfer these speech skills to the real world. many kids head outdoors for adventures. Here are some words you may encounter as you go about your trip. Practice speech therapy skills at your home away from home by saying the words in silly sentences or questions!

Ideas to incorporate R words
● Play "I Spy" as you drive to your destination or while hiking
● Have a treasure hunt with all of the family to see who finds the most R words
● Make up campfire stories with the R sound
● While playing music, listen for R words in the lyrics
● Notice and talk about R words on road signs or billboards
● Have your kids ask questions with R. "Are you ready to run? Are you ready to race?"
● What action words can your family act out and have your child guess with R? ( "Mom is roasting something! Dad is rapping!")
